As an ovarian cancer survivor, I will race in 50 triathlons in all 50 states by 50-years-old to raise $100,000 for ovarian cancer research. This campaign is self inspired, self orchestrated and 100% self funded. In addition, all in-kind donations are turned into cash donations by me in the same name of the person who donates. I race for women who have lost their battle, women undergoing treatment and women yet to be diagnosed.

Good News Indeed!
In the January 6, 2010 issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, researchers determined that three cancer biomarkers show up in blood tests long before symptoms occur. What that means in layman's terms is that a method of early detection is on the horizon. There is still much work to be done (and much fundraising necessary) but the discovery of these three important biomarkers is a huge step towards the ultimate goal. I am over-the-moon excited. THIS IS WHY I RACE. This year will be an important year. I am racing in 11 new states, aiming to bring in another $20,000 to put towards the research necessary to make this goal come to fruition. Please give if you can and pass this link along to everyone you know. Lots of $10 donations this year will make the difference. Feel free to follow the research on the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund website at www.ocrf. org and keep your fingers crossed that SOON, no one will have to die from this disease.
