Having just returned from a whirlwind 48 hour adventure in Washington DC with my niece McKenna, I feel small. Keep in mind I walk around Manhattan five days a week. I am towered over by sky scrapers and absorbed by literally millions of people during my commute. Somehow I don't feel the same "smallness" I am attempting to describe here.
One of our stops was to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. It was there I viewed exhibits on the solar system. Up close and personal, I saw how tiny earth is compared to the rest of the system. Of course, I learned all this dozens of years ago but you are never too old to re-learn something. I don't know why but it had an impact...
Despite this feeling, I am committed to make a difference on this planet. Earth may be small but it is a mighty presence in the solar system. My campaign may be a small piece of ovarian cancer research but every dollar will make a difference. Small is the new big.
